Fall 2008 Fashion Trends Sneak Preview

What’s in store for the upcoming season of Fall 2008 fashion?  Let’s take a look around the web and find out…

1) New York Magazine gives us a nice pictorial layout of the 100 most fabulous looks for Fall 2008.  You can rate the photos, too.  Or just for fun, see what they’re saying are the 100 most hideous looks.

2) For hair and makeup style tips, see Style.com’s slideshow, Backstage Buzz.  Looks range from minimalist to over the top.  One key trend to look for:  bloodred lips.

3) Elle Magazine lists among their Top 10 New York trends for Fall 2008, continuing trends of jewel tones and color gradations.  And you don’t have to give up your florals just because Spring is gone…winter florals will be big this upcoming season, just in darker tones.  Look also for the staple fall plaid.

4) GlamChic has a great spread with runway photos and detailed descriptions of upcoming style trends, including some things I love:  cocoon coats (so comfy), oversize knits (again, so comfy), neo-50s day dresses, medieval inspired designs, plaid, hollywood glamour in formalwear, and some things I hate:  peaked shoulders (ugh, big shoulders should have died with the 80s) and big bow blouses (unless your name is Madeline and you’re 8 years old, why would you want to wear a big freakin’ bow?).  According to this site, rusty copper colors will be big in the fall, too.

5) FabSugar tells us it’s all about the sleeves this Fall, sleeves in all shapes and sizes, as long as they are beautiful and dramatic.

6) EveningShoes.com says that ecologically conscious buying decisions will be the *in* thing when it comes to fashion, as well as the two extremes of sky high heels and ballet flats.
