Fashionably Modest
Here’s what I find funny about the modesty movement (the push for the availability of dresses that don’t show everything your mama gave ya): 20 years ago these dresses would not have been considered modest. They would have been considered dresses. Period. I think it’s kind of odd that just because your neckline doesn’t go to your bellybutton, your dress is put into a special classification.
People have their opinions about the modesty movement one way or the other. Mine is that everyone of all tastes should have access to good fashion. With that in mind, here are two different “modest” looks I like from beatifullymodest.com.
The above dress comes in those jewel-toned colors that are very popular right now. The sheer fabric gives it an alluring and feminine appeal without being over the top, and the criss-crossed bodice and gathering around the waist give it a very *in* look.
The dress above has a simple yet classic and form-flattering cut, and the sparkly fabric gives it that something extra. Below is another picture that shows a closer view of the fabric as well as more color options.
