Fashionista Friday: Fashionista.com
Fashionista Friday is the new weekly segment where I highlight fashion sites that you’ll want to add to your favorite places or your feed reader, or just read through on a day you’re looking for something to do.
Since I’m calling it Fashionista Friday, it seems appropriate to start out with the site, fashionista.com. Fashionista.com describes itself as “an online explosion of personalities, companies, events and trends that shape the fashion universe.”
A couple of sample posts:
Britt talks about whether or not you should buy items your friends already own: “I was immediately brought back to tenth grade lunch where my best once friend proclaimed ownership of Abercrombie and Fitch. Whether friend or foe, if you showed up with so much as a moose in the corner of your top, you were shot death stares until the 3 o’clock bell.”
And Natalie brings our attention to Gwyneth Paltrow’s love of foot-crippling, but oh-so-pretty, super high heels: “Selfridges is happy to report a 35% rise in sales of sky-high heels since Gwyneth’s made walking in 7-inch platforms look like a daily treat.”
This site appears to be written by people who live in New York, so they are immersed in the New York fashion scene.
