If you can’t afford this mattifier, there is a cheap solution out there, you know that company that rhymes with he hay doh? they sell rice paper that people buy to reduce oil on their face, the toilet rings that many public bathrooms use has the same mattifier effect on the skin. Get a bunch, cut them into the shape of your holder, and use those on your t-zone to eliminate oil on the cheap!

Sounds strange but If you are getting ready for bed and feel a zit starting dab toothpaste on it and go to bed . In morning wash face good and zit is gone. Really works. I also wash pillowcases often. I wash face before bed and when I wake up.

Try not to touch your face too much throughout the day! I also try to use natural products in my home as much as possible. :) I’m *in love* with Arbonne’s products, specifically the RE9 AntiAging skincare line. AMAZING! They have completely transformed my skin and my self image. :)
( Now I share them with others: http://MeganR.MyArbonne.com )
I am always open to challenging/comparing Arbonne to other high quality products.

I’ve never been too into the expensive stuff, and it’s just fine with me, because my cheap moisturizer is the best one I’ve ever found! It’s the Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer, and it is just perfect. The product is so light and tingly, and is perfect to put on after a shower without making me greasy. Hurray!

I was taught that the pores on the face are facing out with a slight down slant, so to better clean facial skin, rub cleanser in an upward motion so that each pore receives some product. To make the pores look smaller, before applying foundation or cover-up, splash cool water, then wipe down, to settle the hairs.

My secret weapon is Egyptian Magic. The stuff is multi-purpose. You can use it on rashes, burns, as a lipgloss, a moisturizer, etc. I read about it in a magazine years ago and have beed using it ever since. The article said that Madonna never leaves home without it and now I know why!The Egyptian Magic Ingredients:
olive oil
bees wax
honey
bee pollen
royal jelly
bee propolis
Divine love
I always smile when I read the last one.
This product has been around since 1991. I have been using it for about 5 years. Oprah has also endorsed this product in her magazine.

Apply a tiny bit of vaseline to upper and lower lip before applying lipgloss. The vaseline smooths the lips and conditions them so the gloss goes on evenly, without causing that sticky feeling.

My tip is to try out different facial masks. There are so many types out, some that you have to peel off, some that get warm, some that you just wash away… and they are made with a large variety of different natural items. I try to do a mask a couple of times a month and I think it really helps keep away blackheads and pimples.

My best skin care tip would have to be staying out of the sun, using a high SPF meaning way more than 15, try about 30. Moisturizing with a light oil free moisturizer. I wash my face with a cream cleanser while in the shower. I have to say I’ve been pretty blessed thus far with my routine. You should try modifying yours if you don’t see results remember each persons skin can react differently.

After your makeup is applied, run an ice cube over your face. It sort of seals the makeup, removes any appearance of excess powder and gives you a dewy look. Just don’t over do it, use an ice cube straight out of the freezer so it’s not “drippy” and keep it away from mascara.

I always try to keep my skin moisturized– and usually with lotion that contains sunscreen. I think having fair skin and all the news about skin cancer and sun damage really makes you realize how important that is.

Jul 30, 2008 at 10:55 pm
ok this will be counterintuitive, but if your skin is oily, don’t wash your face too much. once or twice a day is fine. the reason is if you strip your skin of too much oil it will produce more to make up for it, and that can cause acne. seriously, as an oily teen this was shocking to me.

Not original perhaps, but my best advice is to tell younger girls and women to start using sunscreen regularly YOUNG! Think about it as a teen — don’t think you can tan like crazy and not pay the price later (I’m only mid 30’s and see it already!). Start young and stay consisten with a good moisturizer. Also, drink lots of water and eat a healthy and balanced diet - fruits and vegetables, etc. I think what you put in absolutely reflects on the outside!

Apple cider vinegar (straight or mixed with water so it won’t burn too much) makes a great toner! I also love to mix used coffee grounds with body wash for a fantastic body scrub! Really, you won’t believe how soft your skin will be!

Try skin brushing. It’s truly amazing how soft your skin will be after just a few weeks of regular brushing. Do it first thing in the morning, before you shower and before long, you will barely need any body lotion.

My tip is that if you ever experience sensitivity to a product then use vaseline as your moisturizer for a couple of weeks. It doesn’t burn on sensitive skn and gives it time to heal.
Kara
Jul 31, 2008 at 4:42 pm
If you ever react to a product and your skin becomes very sensitive, use vaseline for 2 weeks as a moisturizer (No, you won’t break out) and give your skin time to heal. Then you can go back to other products without worrying about them burning when you apply.
